Timothy Jackson Drake:
Third Robin, tech specialist extarodinaire, Master sarcastic.

I decided to draw him in his (if I remember correctly) first uniform.
I also decided to do him in his younger days. :3 Since I don't usually get to draw young Tim too often.

I've been working my ass off on this for the past few days. *Wipes sweat from brow*
It's been a long road with many twists and turns. But, dispite the horrible time this drawing gave me from start to finish, I am extremely happy with the completed product. ^^

Tim is, by far, my favoriate Robin...not only because he is the Robin of my generation, but also because I apprechiate a character who has to work hard and earn whay he wants.
Tim deffenently fits the bill.
Tim, as well as Batman, was a HUGE roll model for me growing up. So, I owe a lot to the Batman comics. I wouldn't be the man I am today without the leasons I learned from the.
Not to say my parents didn't raise me propperly, as they did a great job themselves, but I do owe a lot to Batman, as well.

I started this piece about three or 4 days ago by sketching out the base form of what I wanted. Then, went over the figure again, defining the lines I wanted to keep and adding in more strict details. After that, I lined out the lines I wished to keep in Sharpie Brand fine tip, no bleed pen; making sure to thinking any lined that needed to be. After that, I added in a few detail lines (mostly in the mas and on the cape to guide in the coloring of the piece). Next came the colors--in which I did all I could to avoid coloring the skin tones. xD (They are my least favorite thing to color...)
I started by layering each color with several copics, defining the shades and highlights. Then layered on colored pencils (of various brands) to add more depth and texture.

The hardest part of this piece was simply the amount of green.
Not so much that it was difficult to do as much as it was simply tedius. x.x

My favorite part was coloring the tunic, followed closely by coloring the boots. ^^

This piece was done in a mix of Copic Markers and Colored Pencils.

Please excuse the double signature. I wanted to be sure it was clearly visable in case it did show up against the blue. :3

Beautiful work here! I really love how you've blended the colors in this piece, and the colors themselves are incredibly vibrant (especially the yellow!)
Your background is simple, a swirling blue, but I really like how you've managed to capture so many different shades and it makes it interesting to look at without distracting from Robin.
And lovely highlighting and shading here, again you've done a particularly good job where it's gold, it almost looks metallic!

There does definitely seem like there are aspects of this piece that you could work on though. You leave the area around his feet a light gray on the otherwise black circle, which looks odd to me. Also, because it's lighter it does draw more attention to this area. There's another lighter area around his hand and to the left of the R. I don't mind the lighter spot in the loop of the R, that seems to be working, but I don't think it works well in the other areas.
His right arm, the one behind his head, also seems to be a little bit off. In fact, both arms seem a little short, but the one behind in particular. The distance from the elbow to the should is too short in either case and then the forearm needs to be longer as well.
His feet also are on the smaller side. They seem to be smaller than the size of his head, which is why they strike me as being very small.
